Since putting this release in the queue for review, Synthosaurus has released two other records both of them not straying too far from this sound. if you enjoy the sound of prehistoric themed dungeon synth / woozy new age, then you are in for a treat since Synthosaurus brings the FUN to a genre that is sometimes to busy with cloaks and candles to crack a smile. I love this so much and am hesitantly watching other creature based DS rise out of the tar pits to reclaim the earth.
Favorite track: The Deccan Traps.
Many, many years ago... when dinosaurs ruled the earth... somewhere during that time there was a big explosion... Suddenly a keyboard appeared and the dinosaurs were baffled, especially the T-Rex. Somehow they managed to master the arts of the synthesized new machine and this recording you are listening to right now was discovered by a team of scientists just recently...
Once again the scientists, working around the clock to discover these dinosaur master tapes, found a complete album. The question is now... how did the dinosaurs manage to record these songs onto tape? To be continued.

This album scratches a nostalgic itch for me from when I was a kid, watching stop motion dinosaur vhs movies and just being obsessed with the prehistoric world in general. I didn’t know how much I missed all of that until now, this just really takes me back. And it’s surprisingly listenable, I like that it doesn’t go on too long, just a short burst of awesome Dino-vibes whenever I want them. Stoked to have the cassette of this!!! explosive_vegetables
